  • What do you think about Suikoden Plotline?

Me I think if it is final all the protagonist and true runes must be there and the mysteries of the mysterious characters must be solve. If it is not final Harmonia is the location and the rune is circle rune and I want to see Hikusaak there.

    • I want to see all of the countries that are known, we have Western Continent, Zelant, Kanakan, New Armes, Nagarea, Nameless Lands, Badlands, Gaien, Kulook (We saw it, but only as a map in Tactics), Camaro (SP), Tenjik, Sanadia, Katana.. etc..

I would love to go back in time to see the hero's war as well.

I'd love to go to Kanakan.. it's talked about in every game, but we've never seen it! It's near Scarlet Moon and Kulook.

I think if there is another game, we would see New Armes VS Nagarea next.

Harmonia, is actually really big.. so it could take a few games to cover.

If they really want to get it done quickly without making it a bad game, they can release some shorter games in the smaller countries.. maybe even if mobile.

After brushing up on some Josephine facts, I'd love to see Josephine, Shula, Nifsara and Sharmista return.. and the tenkai would be related with New Armes and they would be fighting Nagarea.. and the end result is there would be a peace treaty between the two.. and we would get to visit a part of Falena.. since it's in the middle..and maybe even Nagarea.

An Josephine would make friends with another Narcissist girl and they'd have a unite that mimics a unite with the hero. (Because that's what Narcissist attacks do!)

    • If Milk's thinking of if it isn't the last Suikoden, I'm getting the feeling the whole event time would take place during the Hero's War.

I'm a little lazy to tell what I've been thinking on my take of Suikoden VI right now. (It's late...*yawn*)

        Loading editor
    • If this would be the last Suikoden, we need to close all mysteries (Jeane, Viki, Sindar, Hikusaak, Luc Wind Rune visions), etc etc, since we probably would never have the chance to do that again, so why put this on hold for eternity?

So, probably Harmonia is next to be "liberated" since it's a opressive empire that needs to be shut down. Since it's the biggest empire of all, it will be a epic struggle to finish it, and thrus, a fitting end to the series.

If this wasn't the possible last Suikoden, of course I would like to explore more of the world, maybe the Western Continent as well, or the Eastern Landmass.

BTW Hotspot, the Kooluk Empire doesn't exist anymore. That region is probably devided to the core with several provinces right now.

    • If me, wherever the next Suikoden take place..

Please tell me the answer, is fate unchangeable?

I wish Suikoden VI can prove that fate is changeable! Maybe the hero is an evil people, but with his fighting, he can be a "Chief Star of Heaven" who can make a peace for his land.

        Loading editor
    • That is quite an interesting one. It's like Snowe, only not a Tenan Star...

        Loading editor
    • The thing with Snowe is that he wasn't technically a bad guy. People, on his whole life, sold to him the idea that he was a important person destinated to greatness, but he isn't up to the task. He don't have what it takes to be a leader, but he still tried and failed, because people expected too much of him, and he didn't understood  why he failed, since everyone was selling that idea to him, so he blamed others, like Lazlo, for his failures, and didnt saw his own flaws... not until you recruit him at the end of 4, anyway.

So maybe what Kyoui want is something more akin to Jowy, I guess. As a Black Sword Rune owner, Jowy believe that Power is supreme, and that you need to use of Power to bring peace with a iron hand. I guess a character more like Jowy would suit better.

        Loading editor
    • I...know Snowe wasn't really a bad guy. You're probably right about Jowy, though.

    • I still wished a Suikoden 2.5 where you play as Jowy as the main character. Would be nice seeying the events of 2 with his eyes.

Image, at a point of the game, you visiting the Grasslands (like Riou visit Toran) to forge an alliance with the Karaya Clan? Would be so neat!

    • Someone made a fan art of what the cover would be like if such a thing existed. I know it's on Milk's message wall.

    • umm... In my own imagination, not like Jowy. Jowy is a traitor! Evil! Bad people! He always think that he better that Riou! He doesn't have heart! He just follow his own ambition like Luca Blight..

Why??? Why Jowy just pay attention to Pilika and Jillia?? Even though, Flik and Viktor once saved his life when he and Riou almost killed by Rowd.

I mean.. The hero from next Suikoden is a son of evil king (similar with Luca Blight). Since he was a child, he had killed many people. Oneday, he does a big mistake, then he was punished to be die by the king, his own father. But, his servant saved him, and let him go far away from the kingdom. After he walk so far, he arrive in a village. Then he become a friend of a boy whose his family was killed by Hero's father. Then they make a liberation army and recruit some SoD. After successfully to stop and kill the king, Hero's bestfriend know that Hero is the child who kill all his family several years a go. Then he betray the Hero and fight back to the Hero. After fight each other, finally Hero can stop his bestfriend. Then, Hero become an a Chief Star of Heaven who can make peace for his land.

Sorry but I have to disagree. Jowy reasoning is not an evil one. His reasoning is sound and and makes sense. While his methods were questionable, his objectives were noble ones.

Jowy is actually paying attention to the whole area, Dunan, itself.

The wielder of the Black Sword Rune generally believes that Power is the best path to solve any problem. At first, Jowy objective was to finish Luca Blight, but soon, he changed his mind. Jowy goal was to create a single powerful nation, that would intimidate and match any other nation who ever dares to try to challenge them. For such thing to happen, Jowy needed to unify Dunan as a whole, eliminating the City-State (which he saw their system ineffective and prone to disputes) and make Highland, a Kingdom, control all that, effectivelly ending the disputes. And funny enough, Jowy objective, in the end, was successful, because the Dunan Republic was born as a strong, unfied country.

Jowy raged war so he could end all wars, and never make children like Pillika suffer it's horrors again.

He wanted to create a safe nation, and he was up to the sacrifices he should made for that to happen. Much so that he was up to let himself get killed when he saw that Highland would lose the war, so Riou could get the Rune of Beginning. Remember that he used almost all his lifeforce to seal the Beast Rune as well, that why he was dying.

Jowy is not Black and White, he is of Gray morality. Nash in Suikoden III explains it very well.

        Loading editor
    • Actually, I hate Jowy because WHY??? Jowy is better for everything than Riou???

Magic Point, Attack Point, Easy to Level Up, Protection, Attack and Defense Unit (Battle Map), Evade/Critical Skill, Black Sword Rune... All of them is better than Riou!!! So, if Riou and Jowy get a duel battle, Riou is easy to defeated/killed by Jowy!

That's the only one which I dislike from Suikoden 2...

After defeating Beast Rune, the only reason I come to Tenzan Pass for meet Jowy is to take Riou's Black Sword Rune.. Tee Hee...

    • Well, if you don't like him, I respect that. Although, like I defended, I don't find him that bad.

But I dislike some Suikoden characters myself. Not counting villains, which I dislike because they should be disliked, I dislike some characters because they are rude and arrogant, like Zerase for example.

Also most elves from Suikoden world, save exceptions like Kirkis and Paula. Elves really annoy me with their attitude.

There's also Na-Nal Island in Suikoden IV, where everyone there was a jerk. Seriously, what's wrong with the people of that island?

I remember there was a rumor based on the files inside the Suikoden IV codding that the number of Suikodens would be 10, and that Leknaat would be the final villain of all....

      Like I said, all "rumors".

        Loading editor
    • Oh...that's nice.

        Loading editor
    • To be honest, I don't see how she could be a villain, since she help the Tenkai stars a lot, and Tenkai Stars are all well intentioned people who want to put rights into wrongs. Unless she have a bigger scheme to be helping as much as she does.

Anyway, what you guys think about a FEMALE Tenkai Star?

        Loading editor
    • Who knows, maybe you would end up playing as the bad guys and we would have a bad version of the Tenkai and 108 or something...

I would love a female Tenkai! I think that's what their plan was since Prince was more feminine. A few years back, I made a drawing.. no idea where it is.. but basically, I thought that the next tenkai would be an elf girl who comes from a warmer climate.. and her weapon is like this giant bow that she can shoot, but can also be used to whack people with! Like maybe in the front row it would be a melee weapon and if she's in the back row she would shoot an arrow...Maybe her true rune can have something to do with weapon runes.. this way she could make use of the Hawk rune, without having to only allow her with one rune slot left.. with true rune and hawk...give her water or fire.. etc.. So it'd be like a true weapon rune or something..

        Loading editor
    • I like female tenkai too hehe... but I want her to be a balance character mentally, physically and socially. I want her to talk of course. I want her to express herself as a human.

      Yeah, I have an idea!

She is the only daughter of a great general (like Tir McDohl). Actually, her father want to have a son, that can be a great knight. Therefore, she was taught by her father with a long sword. Oneday, the other general kill their king, so he become a king, suddenly he fight another country cause of a small island. Then her father send hers to a battle field

        Loading editor
    • I actually like Kyoui idea of "Her father always wished for a son". It's happened alot in the medieval times, and could be a driving force for her to seek her father approval in the beginning. Would be nice if her character development after she take the leadership of the games rebel army is her accepting she isn't his son, but she is his DAUGHTER, and she shouldn't change her way of thinking just because of him.

Kinda like a Tir McDohl thing, you mature along the journey to learn to be independent and not seek approval of your authorty figures all the time, but under a different light.

Nha... it will be as the usual for the female cast members of a Suikoden game. But this time, instead having the majority of the game girls fralling for your Protagonist, it would be the majority of the game guys. =P

Because as we know, Tenkai Stars are the masters of unwanted harems.

    • Since I am loving asking you guys questions, because you are alll very participative, heres another:

The next True Rune that the next protagonist should get, it should or not have big "cursed" side effects? Because, I mean, almost all Protagonists True Runes have a cursed sideeffect(Soul Eater kill people you like, Bright Shield makes you fight your best friend, True Fire can possible go out of control, Punishment sucks your lifefroce).

So, if is a True Rune, you guys want the tradition to continue? Or you guys think it's overplayed and the True Rune should me more akin with the non-true Dawn Rune?

        Loading editor
    • Well, this was my take on what Suikoden VI should be:

The game takes place 25 years after the events of Suikoden III, in SY 500. During this time, a rumor is spread throughout the world of a mysterious True Rune called the "Rune of the End", a True Rune believed to have been destroyed long ago by the other 26 runes, due to its catastrophic nature.

According to the rumor, the Rune of the End would appear only if all 26 other True Runes gather in the same spot, and the one that does so would be granted incredible power.

Here, the Tenkai Star is a wanderer searching for True Runes in hopes of discovering the truth behind the rumor before everyone else. The reason why s/he had to be first before all is simply because so the Rune of the End doesn't fall to the wrong hands.

        Loading editor
    • I really like your idea Omega! It's cool!

I really want to see the beginning of the world myself; everyone wants to go forward. .but I have no problem seeing the past. Sierra and Genoh are the oldest known characters, maybe we could see when they were both very young!

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, with Sierra getting the Moon Rune and trying to break through it's spell.

        Loading editor
    • We just hope we get to use the Moon Rune in combat this time. It was a big dissapointment in II that we got it and it didn't appeared in any of Sierra slots.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, wasn't that just awkward? I mean, we got a secondary True Rune to the plot, and we didn't even get to use it.

Well, I probably would've used the Darkness Rune, anyway...

        Loading editor
    • Rune of the End what kind power does it have?

        Loading editor
    • The Rune of the End is a True Rune governing the path of the future, whether it's technological innovations or the birth and destruction of countries. However, in the wrong hands, it's full potential has the power to trigger the start of the world's end.

It's magical abilities are mostly extremely destructive, mainly containing meteors and other unnatural disasters. One of its spells, however, is similar to the Bright Shield Rune's Forgiver Sign spell, where it heals the entire party and then destroys the enemy party.

It's strongest usable spell is actually an illusion, but it shows the world set ablaze, then sent on the enemy party, causing incredible damage.

        Loading editor
    • Well, returning to my previous question that I guess was too long so nobody answered: Does this rune would have some cursed sideeffects on the bearer life?

        Loading editor
    • Actually, I thought the Rune of the End would be a late-game thing because the Tenkai Star has to find the other 26 True Runes. However, I suppose the Tenkai Star does get a True Rune over the course of the game that is cursed in some way.

        Loading editor
    • I see.

I believe that previous protagonists will also appear, since most of them have a True Rune. right?

The problem goes with people who didn't. 26 years after III is a long time for protagonists who DO age, like Riou and the Prince. Canonlically, the Rune of Beginning isn't complete, and Bright Shield and Black Sword are still set appart, so they still age as the time pass. They would be old man by the time 6 kick in.

Or maybe... they could be some kind of Badass Grampas! This could also work, I guess.

        Loading editor
    • The really good thing, is that Viki is a time traveler, so in theory.. she could teleport any Suikoden character to any time.. so if she had to, she could send Riou and the Prince from their time to decades in the future. Oooh! Or the past! That would be really cool! Just imagine, Tir, Riou, Hugo, Lazlo, Prince.. and maybe even the Flame Champion.. going to the beginning of the world! Seeing how it all began..

        Loading editor
    • Yeah. If time travel would be allowed, Viki role would be way bigger than before. But Time Travel is something hard to write, so I hope it end up being executed well.

If the protagonists return, I hope they get different clothes and design. Sure, Tir, Lazlo and Hugo won't age a bit since they have True Runes, but I doubt they would wear the same clothes for decades(or for a century, in Lazlo case), since while their bodies won't change, they sure mature like normal humans, psychologic wise.

        Loading editor
    • Well, that is quite the theory, although some may have given their runes to someone else (Probably not the Rune of Punishment though, because...that.) or may have sealed them. The idea of Viki teleporting through time, though...that's never happened in North America, so it'd mostly be a shock to them assuming they haven't played the Suikogaidens.

      SPEAKING OF TIME TRAVEL

How about the Tenkai Star ends up being teleported to the Sindar age in order to find what happened to the Rune of Change and how to get it?

        Loading editor
    • In my original case for getting the Rune of Change, the Tenkai Star had to go into some kind of large Sindar Ruins that somehow were a gateway to the World of Emptiness. There, they would find Yuber and fight him in order to interrogate him about where the Rune of Change could be as well as either getting the Eightfold Rune or just Yuber joining the party.

After the interrogation, s/he and the party would get into the Sindar's Eternal City, and that's where the Rune of Change would be.

    • About Suikoden 6 (only ideas)

After the events of Suikoden III, Zexen and Grassland are at war with Tinto Republic.

      • The title could be Genso Suikoden 3.4 (reference to subsequent events S3, and .4 is the reference to the fourth war / conflict of Grassland)

Suikoden VI = Holy Kingdom of Harmonia and Hikusaak (I agree)

      • It is mentioned that Hikusaak could be dead and some fans speculate that he's insane and is inactive due to the magic of the Priests of Harmonia.

      About true runes

It's not need that all the true runes can appear in S6, just simply to be mentioned or seen inside orbs, and Konami can give more details in websites. The mysteries related to Jeane, Vicky and other characters might not be good strategy to reveal the truth, because the fans might be more disappointed.

        Loading editor
    • The problem with not reveiling Jeane and Viki mystery is that they WERE builing these mysteries.

If these mysteries were just mysteries for people to theorize about, why give more hints and build it more as the series go on?

It would be looking like they are TEASING us than giving us something to think about, because they are building something that would lead to nowhere. It's like building a unfished bridge, it would be annoying.

They should've stopped on "Jeane is a mysterious Rune Mistress who never age" and "Viki is a girl who travel through time" because these things don't need an awnser. But nope, they linked Jeane with the Ancient Armes Kingdom, and create a weird dimension that Viki came from, along with Child Viki. Those things, on other hand, needs a answer, otherwise they would be plot holes.

I don't believe Tir would try to seal the Soul Eater. If that was possibile, Ted would've done that already in the past.

Also, it's his duty is to guard the Soul Eater, for the sake of all people who lost their lives due it, and as a promisse to Ted. Remember he made a promisse to him, and I doubt Tir would break it just to "be free". And since there is a possibility that the souls of the people who died due the Soul Eater influence remains inside the Rune. I think Tir won't seal it or try to get rid of it for respect purposes as well.

I just believe that among the True Rune bearers we know that were protagonists, Tir also have a strong reason to NOT get rid of the Soul Eater no matter what.

Lazlo can't do that because the Punishment Cycle will begin anew, Tir can't do that due a promisse and due respect. That's what I believe.

While I believe Hugo and Riou could seal their runes, especially Hugo, I believe Lazlo and Tir are too connected with their runes by duty to do something like that.

    • I want to know exactly what Waffu is. I wonder if it has anything to do with waffles...

      Naaaaah. Couldn't be.

    • Most people believe Waffu is the name of Viki hometown, you know, that dimension that she take Nash in Suikogaiden?

    • Yeah, I know because it's mentioned as trivia on her page. I never did play the Suikogaiden games, but I know they traveled to a whole lot of places in Volume 2. Maybe during a new Suikoden game, there's trouble in her hometown and the Tenkai Star and company are teleported there.

    • You should play sometime. Even if you are not a fan of visual novels, the lore alone will keep you entertained.

    • I've been wanting to for some time, to be honest...

    • If the problem is the language, there is fan translations.

    • Yes and is pretty good! I really liked it.

Hopping someone translate Woven Web of a Century as well. I want to play that game so badly, even not being part of the main world.

    • I can't do fan translations. It's just the issue of getting the games.

    • I read an article on this wiki saying Suikoden V is the "final installment of the True Rune series." The True Runes have been a staple of the series. It's the common thread that all the main Suikoden games shared. So is Suikoden V the last game, or is there sizable evidence of a Suikoden VI coming?
