Richmond is the Chiyu Star.
Dunan Unification War Edit
Not too much is known about Richmond other than his role in the Dunan Unification War. Richmond was performing investigations in Radat, where he met Riou, Apple, and Nanami while they were looking to obtain the help of Shu. When Shu refused to help and began to avoid Apple, Richmond investigated him for her. Richmond completed his investigation on Shu by throwing a coin into the river so Apple could find it and ensure that they would get help from Shu.
Riou later came back to Richmond to ask him to join him. Richmond proposed a coin flip to decide whether he will join or not, but he was using a weighted coin and flipping it around so whatever Riou called would be wrong. Riou brought back Richmond a different coin, showing Richmond that he found out about the trick. Richmond apologized for tricking him and agreed to join, saying that a good leader needs to see through tricks. Richmond helped out back at the castle in North Window by performing investigations for Riou.
After the war, Richmond remained in Radat as a Private Investigator.
Role in the GameEdit
After obtaining and defending the headquarters, Richmond can be recruited in Radat. Accept his challenge and lose the coin flip, then speak to the customer in the tavern that is closest to the door, and he will give a coin to have Richmond use. Bring Richmond the coin and he will join.
Richmond is the Investigator in Suikoden II. After recruiting him, he can perform investigations on characters for a fee to obtain more information about the character. Richmond takes approximately 10 minutes on each investigation.
"You want to know about me besides the fact that I'm handsome, wise, and brave? Don't get to close to the fire, kid, or you'll get burned."
- Richmond Investigations
Remember that all my investigations are handled absolutely discreetly. Loose lips sink ships.
"Richmond was raised in Radat City, so it might be that he prefers fish to meat."
- Richmond is the first Investigator in the series, but not the earliest known one, that being Oboro.
