The Mother Earth Rune is a type of rune in the Suikoden series.

Description[]

It is a stronger version of the Earth Rune, and allows the user to cast advanced earth magic. The Mother Earth Rune has appeared in every main Suikoden game.

Suikoden I[]

When a Mother earth crystal is attached to a character in Suikoden, it becomes a Mother Earth Rune.

  • Voice of Earth: 300 damage to all enemies.
  • Copper Flesh: 200% Defense for 1 ally.
  • Earthquake: 700 damage to all enemies.
  • Guardian Earth*: Increase defense for all allies.

*This spell is broken and does nothing in game.

Suikoden II[]

The Mother Earth Rune increases the users defense by 15 points and recovers 5 HP during combat when embedded into a weapon.

  • Revenge Earth: Give 1 ally 100% accuracy with retaliatory attacks for 3 turns.
  • Canopy Defense: Repel one spell cast on group.
  • Earthquake: 800 damage to all enemies on the ground.
  • Guardian Earth: Increase Defense and Magic Defense for 5 turns for all allies.

Suikoden III[]

  • Vengeful Child: Protect one pair from all magic (once).
  • Guardian Earth: Cure allies and enemies of all status and field effects.
  • Earthquake: 800 damage to all enemies on the ground.
  • Canopy Defense: Protect all allies from all magic (once).

Suikoden IV[]

  • Vengeful Child: Defend against one magic attack for 1 ally.
  • Guardian Earth: Cure all status effects for all allies.
  • Earthquake: 800 damage to all earthbound enemies.
  • Canopy Defense: Protect all allies against all magic (once).

Suikoden Tactics[]

  • Mother Earth Force: Changes elemental terrain to Earth. Creates a larger elemental area then the earth rune.
  • Vengeful Child: Protect 1 ally from one magic spell/skill. Changes elemental terrain.
  • Earthquake: Randomly attacks non-flying units standing on Earth Element terrain.
  • Canopy Defense: Protect all in area from magic/skill (once).

Suikoden V[]

  • Vengeful Child: Protect 1 ally from one spell.
  • Guardian Earth: Remove status effects from all allies.
  • Earthquake: 800 damage to all land-based enemies.
  • Canopy Defense: Protect all allies from one spell.
