Profile

Background

Basil is a young man and a proprietor of the game Tops. He used the top game to earn money.

Story

Game

Before the Island Liberation War, he and Lazlo grew up together in Razril. He was surprised when Lazlo was exiled from Razril. He heard a rumor that Lazlo became a pirate and he almost believed it.

During the Island Liberation War, after Lazlo and his crew liberated Razril from the Kooluk Empire, they met again and Basil joined in the Island Liberation Navy.

While he was on board on the Dauntless, he used his tops game to earn money from the people inside the ship. For the first time he taste Funghi's cooking and became fond of it. After the war, he stayed to goofed around on Nay Island, but eventually he returned to sea and became a crew member on a merchant ship.

Role in the Game

Suikoden IV

Speak to Basil in the town square of Razril after liberating Razril.

Basil plays a game of battle Tops, in which the idea is to knock your opponents top down to win prizes.

Basil has the discovered money support ability that increases the amount of Potch won after battles.

Basil: Lets see... Rakgi works a little too much, no? I think a kid's job is to play, don't you think?

Keen: Then, would you tell me what you think of Lazlo?

Basil: Lazlo, huh... I sure was surprised when he was exiled from Razril... I didn't know the details, but I heard he'd become a pirate or something like that... and I almost believed it! But it's not that I REALLY believed it! That's the truth!

Keen: Finally, quietly confess the things you wish to atone for, or all the things that you are thankful for.

Basil: It's not like I'm goofing off! Do you know how hard it is to ensure that everyone is taking breaks? That said, I have nothing I need to apologize for!

Keen: Then, I shall pass judgement!

Basil: All right! I did it!!!

Basil: Whooooaaaaa!! Damn it!! Now I'm mad!!

I heard. You're really working hard, huh? Take it easy once in a while, and drop by for a game or two.

I'm still just getting started! When you get back to Razril, what do you want to do, Lazlo?

I had Mr. Funghi's cooking for the first time since getting on the Dauntless, and I can't believe it! Were the Knights really eating stuff like this everyday? I'm going to eat like this everyday now!
