Albert Silverberg is the Chikai Star and a supporting antagonist in Suikoden III.
Profile
Background
A prodigious military strategist, Albert aids the plans of Luc for his own ends. Haughty and confident, Albert is currently a strategist within the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia and well as, if rumors are believed, a nation on the Western Continent, possibly Zelant, given their famous battle prowess.
Story
Game
As the grandson of the legendary Leon Silverberg and an inheritor of the Silverberg name, Albert was raised to become a military strategist. He studied at Crystal Valley, where he was renowned because of his high marks and was often the best student. He had met Leon Silverberg in the past, following him as an example of a great strategist. However, he wanted to be recognized as himself and not as a replica of his grandfather. Due to this, when he met Luc in one of the numerous libraries in Crystal Valley, he suggested to Luc that he should become a bishop in the Circle Palace and gain the True Runes.
Luc agreed, and thus, Albert summoned Yuber by the “method” Leon Silverberg used during the Dunan Unification War. He, Luc, Sarah and Yuber called themselves the ‘Destroyers’ and cast mayhem throughout the Grasslands, starting the Second Fire Bringer War. The young strategist managed to fan the flames of war between the Grassland, the Zexen Confederacy, the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia and the Republic of Tinto. However, as Luc's plans appeared to be nearing fruition, Albert, unknown by the Destroyers and the Fire Bringer, conspired with Nash Latkje and in the end, betrayed Luc by revealing his plans to Hugo through Nash.
He and Caesar had a moment in the Ceremonial Site, and there, he said that he manipulated the whole war for his own benefit. In other words, the entire war was simply a plot for Albert to gain greater recognition as a strategist. After the war, he was said to have gained a position as a leading strategist on a powerful nation on the Western Continent based on his skill during the conflict. The nation is believed to be Zelant, although it is not specified anywhere.
