Ace is a seasoned mercenary originally from Vinay del Zexay. He has worked for multiple countries and fought in many wars. During the Dunan Unification War, he fought against Highland under Gilbert's orders.
Currently, he is the clerk and accountant for the Twelfth Unit of the Southern Frontier Defense Force, handling all of the administration and paperwork simply due to no one else wanting the job. Due to this, he constantly whines, especially when his team makes unnecessary expenditures on the unit's funds, missing the fact that he makes similar mistakes on women he likes.
He likes women, but he has terrible luck with them. He once attempted to win Elaine's affections by giving her a gift equivalent to the pay of one mission, but she rebuffed him, breaking his heart. He also travels a lot, which makes stable relationships with women outside of the Southern Frontier Defense Force difficult.
However, most of his bad luck is due to his careless actions. As indicated by Martha in a Suggestion Letter, Ace has a gambling problem. Also, most of the verbal and physical assaults he receives from his team and later Aila are due entirely to him opening his big mouth.
